Worked example — Points, cable and circuits — Light points 10, Sockets 12, Switches 6
Cable for lighting: 88.00 m · Cable for sockets: 79.20 m · Conduit, total length: 152.00 m · Flush boxes: 28 · Circuits: 4 · Breakers in the panel: 4
Choose points or cable tray. For points, enter the light points, sockets and switches, the average cable run per point and how many points one circuit takes: PRAXAO gives the cable for lighting and for sockets with the waste, the conduit, the flush boxes, the circuits and the breakers. For a tray, enter the run length, the bar length and the bracket spacing to get the bars, brackets and covers. All the rates are starting values to replace with the installer’s own. The tool counts quantities: it does not size a cable, a breaker or an earthing.

Quantity take-off of a count of points. Cable and breaker sizes, earthing, loads, voltage drop and regulations are the work of a qualified electrician: this is not an electrical design.

No. Cable sections, breaker ratings, earthing, loads and voltage drop are the work of a qualified electrician and depend on the regulations in force.
The light points are divided by the number a circuit takes, and so are the sockets, each rounded up; the circuits are the sum. One breaker is counted per circuit.
The run length is divided by the bracket spacing and rounded up, plus one bracket for the end of the run.
