Worked example — Stone or marble slabs — Area to cover 30 m², Slab length 60 cm, Slab width 40 cm
Area with waste: 33.00 m² · Pieces to buy: 136 · Pieces per m², joints included: 4.12 /m² · Adhesive: 150.00 kg · Grout: 18.00 kg
Choose stone or marble slabs, zellige or parquet and enter the area. For stone and zellige, enter the piece size and the joint: PRAXAO gives the pieces to buy with the waste, the pieces per square metre with the joints, the adhesive and the grout. For parquet, enter the board size and the coverage of a pack: it gives the boards, the packs, the underlay with its overlaps and, with the perimeter, the skirting. Joints, consumptions, coverage and waste are starting values to replace with the maker’s data. The tool counts quantities: it does not check the substrate or the laying rules.
Choose the type of work, then enter the dimensions.

Yes. Each piece takes its own size plus one joint on each axis, so the number of pieces per square metre accounts for the joints.
Cuts at the edges, breakage and diagonal laying use more material. Raise the waste in the form to match your layout.
No. The substrate, its flatness, the expansion gaps and the load of a stone floor come from the maker and the installer.
