Frequently asked questions
How is the weight per metre calculated?
Weight per metre = cross-section × steel density (7,850 kg/m³). For a 12 mm bar that gives 0.888 kg/m, the value found in rebar tables.
What margin should I add?
Usually 5 to 10 % for overlaps (often 40 to 50 diameters), hooks and cutting losses. Your reinforcement drawings take precedence.
Can I mix several diameters?
Calculate each diameter separately, then add the weights: suppliers price and deliver by diameter.
